We went to a Christmas party with a bunch of our friends. Mason was so excited to go and see all his friends after missing play group a bunch of weeks in row because of Thanksgiving and me having McKinley. Me and Jer were also looking forward to a night out of the house and McKinley got to meet everyone! Well, everyone got to see her anyway, she slept through the whole thing.
All of the kids brought old toys from home and did a gift exchange. We were all a little worried that there would be some problems when the kids saw their old toys being given to someone else, but it went great! The adults then did a white elephant gift exchange and therefore there was a lot of laughing and not near as much excitment! It was a great time, thanks Miriam for hosting it!!

It was also Kaden’s first birthday! I love this picture, look at all the dad’s trying to help blow out the candle lol! We also discovered that Mason really likes cupcakes!! (and yes, that really is Jer in the pictures! I actually took the camera for once and snapped some pictures!)

Mason finally got to go play in some snow. Last year, everytime it snowed he was sick so he couldn’t go out and play in the cold. So the first big snow day we had, he was out there ready to go! If only we would have known that we didn’t need to rush out there because the snow wouldn’t stop coming…

Good thing Mason has such a fun Daddy! He loved to throw snow at Jer…but wasn’t quite as happy when Jer threw it back! He really loved it out there, we had a hard time getting him back inside, he didn’t care how red his little cheeks were!

Whew! I can’t believe McKinley is only a week old! She just fits so well in our family, it seems like she’s always been here! So far she is a wonderful baby. Mason just never wanted to sleep from day one and she sleeps so much we often wonder if something is wrong with her lol!! She hardly cries unless she is very hungry or she has all her clothes off. She likes to be warm! She already knows who her Mommy is and loves to lay on my chest and look up at me! She is a very sweet baby. So far Mason has done very well with her. He’s constantly saying "Oh the baby’s cute!" and wanting to hold her…but only for a second! And if he’s not sure where she is, he shouts "Oh no, the baby’s gone!" over and over until he’s found her! He also kissed her for the very first time yesterday! Of course he waited until Jer had gone back to work.
He tends to get a little rambunctious lately but we’re not sure if that’s just him being 2 or he’s wanting attention. And he has already seemed to figure out that when I’m feeding her, I can’t get up to stop him getting into something he’s not supposed to! I believe she already has her Daddy wrapped around her finger, too! He’s so cute with her, it’s fun to watch! I’m also very proud to say that I survived my first day alone with the two of them!! I even had everyone clean, fed, dressed, and ready to go only 2 hours after I had been up!! (we had no where to go, but it’s the idea that counts, right?!) Now, here are some pictures we took of them for our Christmas card. It is a little tricky photographing a newborn, never mind a newborn and a 2 year old, but we are pretty happy with how they turned out! Enjoy!!!
