Yes, that is right, I’m posting about Thanksgiving in January!! I was doing so good keeping up, then the holidays hit! So it’s catch up time, then I’ll be better…I think! 
The Johnson side of the my family isn’t very big, but for some reason it’s super hard to get us all together! So this year my Grandma and Aunt Denise concocted a plan and called all the kids (meaning me, Derek, Ash, and Jess) to make sure we could make it home for Thanksgiving, then instructed us to call our parents and let them know everyone was coming there! It worked pretty good expect the Plant decided to have an outage during that time, which caused my Dad and Uncle Russ to have to work over the weekend and Uncle Russ on Thanksgiving Day. So we still didn’t manage to all eat together, but we did all get together that evening and get a family picture. Here are a few we took.
Since it was freezing cold and dark by the time we could all be together, we just went down to The Gathering Place in Delta and took them. Despite the fact that the photographer had to be in the pictures, too, they turned out pretty good. My little family hasn’t had a family picture forever so I’m glad we could get one. Even though it was late and the kids had an exhausting day, we were happy with the results.
For being in Delta on a holiday, it was a pretty busy weekend for us. Jeremy actually had 2 clients that he took pictures for down there, plus our family. It was also McKinley’s birthday on the following Monday, so we figured we’d have a party that weekend while everyone was there. (More about that later!) It was great to visit with everyone, I hadn’t seen Ashley and her family for over a year! So I loved catching up with her and our kids had a blast together. At some point, they took all the cushions off my mom’s couch and were jumping all over the place. We just kept telling them that “This is something that only happens at Grandma’s!!” and watched them play and have fun together. We still can’t figure out how no one got hurt!
I didn’t get a picture of the food before it was eaten, but here it is after on a very full counter! It was great to have everyone in the same house!
